Hello....

Well, that was a bit of a break.

The ups and downs of life.

Spring has arrived, the snow melted away, and we've finally been able to venture outdoors without our nostrils freezing together.  There has been yard clean up from Winter's mess.

Welcoming a duckling into the family.  Although she doesn't look like much of a duckling, anymore.

A beloved dog that lost all ability to walk overnight.
A trip to the vet and a bunch of tests revealed she has Lyme's disease.
Meds for 30 days.
She's back to chasing the chickens, again.

And....there is a new shop.
And blog to go with the new shop.
Handmade textiles for the eco-conscious home.
All made from hemp or a hemp/organic cotton blend.

Hope you've all been well and enjoying spring!

Hope and Reality

Last summer we were gifted a little fig tree.  Once we brought the tree in for the winter, all but two of the leaves fell off.  Last week new leaves began to open.  It gives me hope that Spring will be here soon.

The reality is, this is probably what we will be doing for a little while longer.

Wish

free-hand stitching on recycled linen

After 13 years of wishing, it's finally coming true.  A new kitchen!

This weekend the demolition of the old kitchen began.  The house is a mess.  The dust is horrendous and I feel like I need the asthma inhaler that I haven't needed for 15 years.  But I will gladly deal with it all.

Wishes aren't granted by some magical genie floating out from a bottle.  They come true with hard work.  And a lot of patience.
