Dreaming and Wishing

Is it too soon to start dreaming and wishing for summer?  It's not that I hate winter.  Hate is such a strong word.  There are bits of winter that I enjoy.  The calmness you feel while watching snow flakes fall.  The romance of a fire, the dark of long nights and rooms illuminated by candlelight.  There is magic in the way the night is lit up when the full moon shines on a blanket of snow.

But, the cold.  How I dislike the cold.

I prefer to feel the warmth of the sun kiss my skin and to have my bare feet tickled by the earth.

Perusing seed catalogs will have to suffice.

A happy weekend to you, friends!

I'm sure your extreme cold gets old fast.... but enjoy the snow a little bit for my girls who have never been in it and would LOVE TO BE.

  4. I am so with you on this one. I was looking at some of my summer garden pictures last night for a project I am working on and oh how I would love to look out the window right now and see gardens instead of snow. But like you said the fire, the gently falling snowflakes, the glow of candlelight...I love that so much too.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  5. Even though I do love winter I too am daydreaming about my garden. I want to expand this year creating a garden playground. I'm not sure how I am going to do it, but the imagining a creating is just as fun as the planting will be.

  6. Winter gives you plenty of time to dream, scheme and prepare. I know the cold can be bitter, but I like to think of its crispness as clearing out the cobwebs from my head. A cleaner slate for when spring rolls around. Stay warm! xo

  8. Yesterday I walked to my mailbox in short sleeves and barefoot, while it was wonderful it was weird. I don't think I have ever done that before in Jan. I am taking advantage of mild spell, but I would love to get a little snow this year. And also not be reminded of global warming on a daily basis :)

  10. It is NEVER too early to dream of summer! :D
See how the trees, amid the frost and bone scarifying cold, blaze with the buds of summer's emerald canopies. Perhaps that is what they are doing - dreaming of summer suns - dreams we can touch at the end of each twig.

  11. gorgeous photos :)...I do look forward to spring, as spring here is far better than the spring I was use to in FL. Though we still hope for more snow here, we need it badly as the dryness means trouble in the summer. What are you thinking of planting?

  12. As someone who lives in a tropical place, I've been wishing ever since to experience snow. If you live in my country, you'll hate how it's always sunny or humid every day. Haha! :P
